Blog049 - Whats in my camera bag in 2026?

I often get asked what I carry in my camera bag as a professional landscape photographer. The truth is that it varies depending on where I am shooting, but the basics are pretty much always there. In this blog, I will go through the gear that is always in my camera bag and the gear used for specific locations. I also use a variety of camera bags, which are also location/trip dependent.

Camera Bag:

  • f-stop Ajna 37L DuraDiamond - Smaller capacity and easy to carry around where less hiking is required (Used in Iceland, Lofoten, Senja, Tuscany, Tenerife, Normandy, Madeira, and Slovenia).

  • f-stop Tilopa 50L DuraDiamond - Larger capacity and more external attachment points for additional equipment (Used in the Dolomites, Faroe Islands, and French Alps).

  • f-stop Sukha 70L - Huge capacity, used for multiday camping and photography trips that are off the grid.

Camera gear (Always with me):

  • Nikon Z8 Camera Body

  • Nikon Z 14-24mm F2.8

  • Nikon Z 24-120mm F4

  • Nikon Z 100-400 F4.5-5.6

  • Kase Revolution Magnetic Filter System (CPL, 3,6 and 10 Stops ND)

  • 3 x Spare Memory Cards (CF Express and SD)

  • 3 x Spare Camera Batteries

  • Tripod: Sunwayfoto T3640CM tripod with the EB-44 Ballhead and spiked feet or Sunwayfoto T3240CK tripod with the EB-36 Ballhead and spiked feet

    Note: I use the bigger and heavier Sunwayfoto T3640CM tripod with EB-44 Ballhead in Iceland, Lofoten, Normandy, the Faroe Islands, Senja, Tuscany, and Slovenia due to these locations not requiring much hiking. I use the smaller and lighter Sunwayfoto T3240CK tripod with EB-36 in the Dolomites, the French Alps, Tenerife and Madeira due to these locations requiring hiking

  • Hex Key and spare bolts for L-bracket

  • 25cm of black duct tape (For emergency repairs or to cover the camera’s self-timer light)

  • Nitecore Headlamp (Fully charged)

  • Aluminium reusable water bottle

  • Small Hand Sanitiser

  • 2 x Protein bars

  • Lighter or matches

  • DJI Mavic 3 Pro + DJI RC2

  • 2 x Spare DJI Drone Batteries

  • Nikon Z 180-600mm

  • Nikon 20mm F1.8 (Milkyway or Northern Lights Only)

  • Laowa 10mm F2.8 lens (Used only in Iceland)

  • Powerbank + USB-C to USB-C charging cable (When overnighting)

  • USB Camera battery charger (When overnighting)
