Slovenia is one of Europe’s hidden gems, mountains, valleys, waterfalls and rivers make this an epic location for landscape photography.
This workshop is designed to visit some of the most amazing locations in Slovenia. We will not have a fixed base, in fact we will be spending most nights in a different locations with the aim of shooting some incredible scenes at sunrise, at sunset and if the weather permits, we will also shoot throughout the day!
We will be traveling across the country, shooting the most iconic locations. Every day we will head out early to capture sunrise in a stunning location, if we are lucky, we will also have some pastel hues in the sky which will give us some stunning images. During the day, we will travel to our next location, rest and at times discuss post-processing.

Physical Fitness Required: Moderate – The longest hikes will be 30-40 minutes long, these include elevation gain so a moderate level of fitness is required. Most hikes are on well-maintained trails.

Tuition:
I will be on hand at all times to help you with your images should you wish. With a small group size there will be plenty of opportunity for 1-to-1 time. On the other hand, advanced photographers often use these tours as an opportunity to enjoy locations without having to worry about planning and organizing the trip themselves. The level of independence and tuition is entirely flexible, depending on individual interests and needs.
Safety
Mountains are extremely rugged and harsh. Sleet, ice and mud are real risks when photographing on location. There are several cliffs at locations we will be shooting at, and these are dangerous as they frequently crumble away and cause rock fall. You will be expected to follow safety instructions to ensure you are kept safe and out of harms way.
Disclaimer:
Due to the harshness and unpredictability of Slovenian weather, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to visit all the locations on the itinerary; we also cannot guarantee that we will be able to capture night sky images, as this is highly dependent on the weather.
Feel free to bring along a laptop that can be used to edit your images, so that we can help you out and gives some hints and tips, also sharing our workflow.
Since this workshop is focussed on landscape photography and ensuring you get the best possible photos for your portfolio, we will aim to shoot most locations in the best light, which is at sunrise and sunset, this means we will have early starts and might also be up late. We will also be shooting throughout the day, and depending on the weather, we may still get some fantastic light.
In the event of trip cancellation, we will not be responsible for any refund for non-refundable airline tickets or for any airline tickets purchased by the passenger directly from an airline or travel agent.
